Professor Isa Pantami, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, has expressed hope that Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ entry into Nigeria will drive more digital connectivity and innovation.
Pantami, represented by Dr. Falilat Jimoh from NITDA, shared in a goodwill message that the company’s launch would enhance internet access in Nigeria and across Africa, which is key to the ongoing digital transformation.
Pantami also pointed out the importance of connectivity in Nigeria’s growing digital economy. “In 2020, ICT contributed 18.44% to Nigeria’s GDP, the highest of any sector, and helped the country recover faster from the COVID-19 recession. Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ presence in Nigeria will help us build on this momentum,” he said.
Professor Umar Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), also praised the move, saying it would help Nigeria compete globally in the digital age. He added that NCC will continue to support new players in the ICT sector to drive growth and transformation in the country.
