Greek Super League club PAOK FC has completed the signing of Nigerian left-back Haruna Saleh, securing him on a one-and-a-half-year contract with an option for an additional year.
Saleh, 19, joins PAOK from Unique Football Academy, after impressing scouts during a 2023 talent program in Lagos. His performance caught the attention of the Greek club, leading to his move to European football.
The young defender is expected to train with the first team, marking the start of a promising career in one of Greece’s top football leagues. His signing is seen as part of PAOK’s strategy to invest in young talent.
PAOK has a history of Nigerian connections, with Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong previously playing for the club. Saleh now has the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Nigerian stars who have made their mark in European football.
The move is a significant step for the youngster, who will be looking to establish himself in the team and gain valuable experience in top-flight European football.
