PDP Crisis Deepens in Abuja

A major drama is unfolding at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. The party’s national secretariat was taken over by protesters loyal to Senator Sam Anyanwu, who’s currently embroiled in a battle for the position of National Secretary.

Here’s what’s happening: the Court of Appeal recently ruled that Sunday Ude-Okoye is the legitimate National Secretary of the party. However, Anyanwu’s supporters aren’t having it. They stormed the party headquarters, chanting slogans like “No vacancy in the National Secretary’s office” and “Senator Sam Anyanwu remains the National Secretary.”

To prevent things from getting out of hand, more security operatives have been deployed to the area. The protesters gathered at the gate of the PDP’s Wadata Plaza headquarters, and police were stationed outside the main gate, searching workers and visitors before allowing them to enter the building.

As of now, neither Anyanwu nor Ude-Okoye has been spotted at the National Secretariat. The situation is tense, and it’s unclear how things will unfold. One thing’s for sure, though – the battle for the PDP’s National Secretary position is far from over.
