By Bayo Onanuga expressed dismay over campaign posters and billboards — particularly in Abuja and Kano — featuring the President and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
“President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima have not authorised any campaign for 2027,” Onanuga stated. He noted that such actions violate electoral laws and risk undermining the integrity of the electoral process.
He emphasized that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not given any green light for 2027 campaign activities, making the current promotions premature and unlawful.
The Presidency called on individuals and groups behind the campaign materials to immediately cease all related activities.
President Tinubu, the statement added, remains focused on economic revitalisation, infrastructure, human capital, and national security, and any future political declaration will only come in accordance with INEC’s official timeline.
