President Tinubu Mourns Veteran Broadcaster Tom Adaba

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep condolences to the family of Professor Tom Adaba, as well as the government and people of Kogi State, over his passing.

Professor Adaba, the first Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), died on Saturday at the age of 83.

In a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised Adaba’s immense contributions to Nigerian journalism, particularly in the broadcast industry.

“From teaching and mentoring to administration and consultancy, Professor Adaba was a towering figure and an inspiration to many within Nigeria’s broadcasting circles and beyond,” the president stated.

Adaba was widely respected for shaping Nigeria’s media landscape, with many describing him as a mentor and leader in the industry.

His passing marks the end of an era, with colleagues and admirers paying tribute to his legacy in broadcasting.
