Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has praised Marcus Rashford for his outstanding performance in their 2-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea at Villa Park over the weekend.
Rashford, 27, came off the bench at halftime and played a key role in Villa’s comeback, providing two assists for Marco Asensio’s goals that secured the win.
At the time of his introduction, Villa was trailing 1-0. However, Rashford’s impact helped turn the game around, showcasing his quality and adaptability in Emery’s tactical setup.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Emery commended Rashford’s contribution, saying, “[We] support him, help him, try to feel comfortable here, try to get confidence with us. [We] try to use his skill in our tactical idea. He’s in the process, and of course, he played a fantastic 45 minutes.”
Rashford, who joined Villa on loan from Manchester United in January, is still adjusting to his new team, but his performance suggests he could play a vital role for the club in the coming weeks.
With Villa pushing for a strong finish in the league, Rashford’s resurgence could prove crucial in their quest for European football next season.
