The House of Representatives Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution, in collaboration with Advocacy for Civic Engagement Centre (ACE Centre), ElectHER, and the National Assembly Library, will hold an exhibition next month to promote gender inclusion in governance. Titled *‘Art for Governance,’* the event aims to use art as a tool for advocacy, focusing on increasing women’s representation in leadership roles.
Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the Constitution Review Committee, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, announced the initiative during a meeting with the Albright Stonebridge Group in Abuja. Kalu expressed concern over the poor representation of women in Nigerian politics and highlighted the Constitution (Alteration) Bill, 2024, which seeks to reserve seats for women in the National and State Houses of Assembly.
The exhibition is part of ongoing efforts to address gender inequality and encourage more women to participate in governance.
