By The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has once again renewed its call for the restructuring of Nigeria, describing it as the most viable solution to the nation’s lingering challenges.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Pulsewireng, the group’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ezechukwu Ezechi, emphasized that restructuring would empower federating states and regions to pursue independent development.
Ezechi argued that regional control over resources would allow states to implement their own economic strategies and address local needs more effectively. He said such autonomy would promote fairness and progress across the country.
“There is need to restructure Nigeria so that the various regions will have financial and structural autonomy to develop their indigenous economic roadmap,” he said.
The Ohanaeze spokesman also stressed the importance of building strong democratic institutions, noting that a resilient democracy cannot thrive without robust systems of governance.
Dr. Ezechi urged the Federal Government to prioritize security across the regions, particularly in the South-East, to foster an environment conducive to business and investment.
