Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL) has welcomed the findings of the Inter-Ministerial Fact-Finding Committee regarding its tax dispute with the Osun State government. The company reaffirmed its commitment to the state’s development.
Following a meeting in Abuja on March 25, 2025, the report was formally released, confirming that SROL had adhered to all legal and regulatory obligations. Country Manager Austin Menegbo praised the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Henry Dele Alake, for ensuring a fair and transparent resolution.
Menegbo emphasized that allegations of wrongdoing against SROL were baseless. He also confirmed that the company’s share certificate had been formally handed over to Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The report invalidated an earlier N3.2 billion tax invoice, recommending a revised figure of N98.3 million, pending a final reconciliation process. Additionally, it found no evidence of environmental degradation, dismissing claims for additional levies.
Despite the resolution, SROL expressed willingness to engage further with the Osun State government to settle any outstanding concerns in good faith.
The company reiterated its dedication to community development, highlighting its CSR initiatives, including scholarships, skill acquisition programs, healthcare, and infrastructure projects in Osun State.
