Super Eagles head coach, Éric Sékou Chelle, has unveiled a 39-man provisional squad ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe later this month.
The list features established stars like Ahmed Musa, William Ekong, Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, Stanley Nwabali, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, and Moses Simon, alongside goalkeeper Adeleye Adebayo.
Also included are Maduka Okoye, Bruno Onyemaechi, Zaidu Sanusi, Frank Onyeka, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, while forwards Samuel Chukwueze and Sadiq Umar return to the fold.
For the first time, defenders Igoh Ogbu and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, midfielders Anthony Dennis, Chrisantus Uche, Papa Daniel Mustapha, and strikers Tolu Arokodare and Jerome Akor Adams have been called up.
The squad also offers possible comebacks for home-based goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, defender Jordan Torunarigha, midfielder Joe Aribo, and strikers Cyriel Dessers and Nathan Tella, if they make the final 23-man list.
Currently sitting fifth in Group C, Nigeria will face group leaders Rwanda in Kigali on March 21, before hosting Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on March 25 in two must-win encounters.
