By Comrade Timi Frank, has raised the alarm over an alleged plot to tamper with the recent Supreme Court judgment on the Rivers State political crisis.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, Frank called on the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kere-Ekun, and other Justices who handled the case to resist any pressure to alter the court’s original ruling.
Frank accused loyalists of a former Rivers State governor of spearheading the alleged scheme, which aims to sneak in issues of defection — matters that are still being handled by the Appeal Court and Federal High Court — into the Supreme Court’s final verdict.
He described the move as a “desperate lobby” meant to manipulate the judicial process and influence ongoing cases, warning that such interference would damage the credibility of Nigeria’s judiciary.
Frank stressed that the Supreme Court should stand firm in protecting the integrity of its ruling, emphasizing that revisiting and altering a judgment to accommodate unrelated issues would set a dangerous precedent.
The political activist urged Nigerians and the international community to closely monitor the situation, warning that judicial manipulation in such a high-profile case could erode public confidence in the country’s legal system.
