Tinubu Extends Immigration Boss’ Tenure Till 2026

President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap’s tenure as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026.

A statement from presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga on Monday confirmed the extension. Nandap, who began her career in the NIS in 1989, was first appointed Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with an initial tenure set to end in August 2025.

Under her leadership, the NIS has seen improvements in border management, immigration modernization, and national security measures.

President Tinubu praised her for her dedication and urged her to continue focusing on the service’s strategic priorities in line with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the NIS in protecting Nigeria’s borders and ensuring safe and legal migration.

The extension is seen as a move to maintain stability and further enhance the agency’s ongoing reforms.
