Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After Working Visit to Europe

President Bola Tinubu is expected back in Nigeria today, ending weeks of speculation over his whereabouts during an extended working visit to Europe.

The confirmation came via a short post on X (formerly Twitter) by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who wrote: “President Bola Tinubu will return home today.”

Although no specific time of arrival or detailed itinerary has been released by the Presidency, this return puts to rest the growing curiosity around the President’s absence from the country.

Tinubu had left Nigeria on April 2 for Paris, France, for what the Presidency described as a brief “working visit.” During the visit, he was reportedly focused on evaluating his administration’s mid-term performance and charting a course for the years ahead.

In an earlier update, Onanuga said the President was using the time to assess key reforms and prepare for strategic planning sessions leading up to his second year in office.

Following his stay in Paris, Tinubu made a stop in London over the weekend, where he continued holding consultations and stayed in touch with top government officials back home.

His return today is expected to be followed by high-level meetings as attention turns toward accelerating development plans and tackling pressing national issues.
