President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to stay united, hopeful, and strong as the country continues to face serious economic and security issues. In his 2025 Easter message, he encouraged citizens not to lose faith, assuring them that brighter days are coming.
Speaking in the spirit of Easter, the President said the celebration was a time to reflect on powerful values like sacrifice, love, redemption, and hope. “Just as Christ triumphed over death, so too shall our country triumph over every challenge we face. The present moment may be cloudy, but it will usher in a glorious day,” Tinubu assured.
Addressing recent violence across parts of Nigeria, the President expressed deep sadness over the loss of lives and promised decisive government action. “I understand the pain and fear these incidents have caused. Let me assure you that my administration’s resolve to restore peace and security remains unshakable,” he stated.
He added that the military and security agencies have received firm orders to act swiftly and restore calm. Tinubu praised the courage of Nigerian troops and said progress was being made in reclaiming stability in troubled regions.
On the economic front, Tinubu acknowledged that life has been hard for many Nigerians. However, he said signs of recovery are emerging. “We are working tirelessly to restore investor confidence, stabilise key sectors, and build an inclusive economy that serves the interests of all Nigerians,” he said, also thanking the public for their patience and strength.
In closing, Tinubu wished Pope Francis continued recovery from his recent illness and called for collective belief in Nigeria’s future. “The task before us is enormous, but together, with faith and determination, there is no obstacle we cannot overcome. Our unity and resilience are our greatest strengths,” he concluded.
