In a major crackdown, Nigerian troops have killed 27 terrorists, arrested 62 suspects, and rescued 44 hostages during operations across the country over the past week. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) announced the achievements on Friday, highlighting the recovery of stolen oil products worth over N292 million.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, revealed that the operations took place between January 30 and February 7, 2025. Troops also apprehended 23 suspected oil thieves and seized 253,330 litres of stolen crude oil, 42,000 litres of illegally refined diesel (AGO), and 5,100 litres of petrol (PMS).
The operations demonstrate the military’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, oil theft, and other criminal activities in the country.
