Maj. Gen. Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, troops working alongside other security agencies and hybrid forces executed fierce offensives across Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna, Niger, Kwara States, and the Federal Capital Territory. A total of 39 suspected terrorists were arrested, while 38 hostages were rescued.

“In air interdictions and ground patrols, several terrorists were neutralized, including the identified kingpin, Bello Kaura,” Kangye stated. “Seventeen kidnapped victims were also rescued during these operations.”

The military also recorded major successes in the fight against oil theft. Operation Delta Safe recovered stolen petroleum products valued at over ₦262 million, dismantling 42 illegal refining sites and seizing large quantities of crude oil, diesel, kerosene, and petrol. Equipment such as boats, tanks, drums, and vehicles were also confiscated.

Kangye emphasized the military’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and protecting law-abiding citizens. “We are taking the battle to the enemy, denying them freedom of action and making them thirst for surrender,” he said.

He appealed for public cooperation, urging citizens to see the Armed Forces as “partners in the pursuit of national security and peace.” Kangye also saluted the daily sacrifices of the nation’s troops, pledging continued professionalism and respect for human rights across all military operations.
