USA Secures 2031 Women’s World Cup, UK to Host 2035

FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that the United States is the sole bidder for the 2031 Women’s World Cup, while the United Kingdom will host the 2035 edition.

Speaking at the UEFA Congress in Belgrade, Infantino confirmed that the USA’s bid includes potential co-hosts from CONCACAF, while the UK’s bid represents England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

FIFA also plans to expand the Women’s World Cup from 32 to 48 teams starting in 2031.

England’s Football Association CEO, Mark Bullingham, called hosting the 2035 tournament a “special moment,” marking the UK’s first FIFA World Cup since 1966. The final decision on hosts will be made in 2026.

The 2027 Women’s World Cup will take place in Brazil. Meanwhile, the USA is preparing to co-host the 2026 Men’s World Cup and the first expanded FIFA Club World Cup this summer.
